Great Britian Parliament: House of Commons
「1809-Jun-13」”House of Commons, Tuesday, June 13, Cruelty to Animals Bill” Parliamentary Register 3 (1809): 659-673.
「1809-Jun-13」House of Commons, Tuesday, June 13, Cruelty to Animals’ Bill,” Parliamentary Debates from the year 1803 to the Present Time, 16 (1809-Apr-11 to 1809-Jun-21): 1029-1040.
It was a great public interest that the people of this country should be depraved, and it was well know that cruelty to animals generally led the way to cruelty to our fellow-creatures. This was well described by our inimitable artist Hogarth, who traced the cruel murderer from the early tormenter of animals. He really believe this bill might be considered in a great degree as a bill for the prevention of cruel murders.
